Thus, we multiply our area by the depth to get volume.Ĩ6154495 x 15 = 1292317425m3. We know Morioh is 15m above sea level, and the source of this takes place at, ya guessed, sea level, before the 15m rise, meaning, the effected mass would, at MINIMUM, be 15m deep, as Morioh is 15m above said feat, basic straightforward shit.
The reason why am I doing a semi circle is because the other half of the circle would be water more or less, and fuck if I know how to factor that in at all, though we do know it caused a tsunami so there's that, but we aren't calcing that. Now, to simplify the calc process, so I don't have to go pixel by pixel over the land mass getting the total area for the effected area in what would end up being approximately the same, we'll treat the effected mass a semi-circle (it being due to an omnidirectional shockwave, treating it as a circle would be accurate, and if we treat the distance between the epicenter/source and the edge of where we know was effected as the radius of the circle, well, speaks for itself). Using this map, which is included and updated in every volume of JoJolion. Which is still a hefty difference but if I had to actually guess, I'd assume like 5-6km, which we got close to here, so it's pretty accurate I'd think. But overall, I can confirm Morioh is at minimum, can't be larger than 10km, but can't be smaller than over 3km. There's many, many, other examples of distances given between points within Morioh, even in Part 4 (Like there being 2km between wherever the fuck Rohan was and the Morioh Hotel which is oddly enough, in about the same place as the Higashikata estate in Part 8, or a whole lot of other things, it's just we never know the exact spot Point A is to Point B, just the ultimate distance, making using them kinda hard). Hard to say, but it's definitely one or the other. Thus, I'm inclined to say that this panel IS the 3km, or at least, the town part itself is. But we can say for certain that what we're shown on panel is at least 3km, given it cuts off places that have been stated to be on the outskirts of Morioh such as the university and mountain, aka, not Central Morioh, and we know due to various other instances that more or less between the main town and various other places, there's at least a 3km distance as shown in this famous panel. Ok so, in the very first chapter of Part 8, we're told that Central Morioh is 3km wide, now, the previous calc assumed that 3km part was the square in the middle, now, I'm not sure why Arigamy (I think?) assumed that, but it's impossible for that to be the case, we know Morioh can't be larger than 10km, put quite bluntly, it isn't, there is so many instances in Part 8 that outright contradicts that, that it isn't even funny.
Which we're told was a 3 on the JMA scale, it effected central Morioh, the blast happened on Morioh Pier, and there was also a tsunami but we never see that, just told it's gonna happen.īut anyway what matters is that it was a 3 and it effected central Morioh.Īlso it was pretty fucking violent, splitting the earth, destroying land, etc, near the coast.Īs seen here, even referenced and shown again as late as the end of WoU, aka, literally a few months ago. SHA (A Mobile Tank Bomb that explodes ( 2-3) goes boom, the shockwave/blast whatever causes an earthquake ( JMA wikipedia article).
